2 Tomothy 3:14-17
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Questions for discussions.
· What advice does Paul give to Timothy to strengthen him in his life and Christian ministry according to these verses?
· For what are the Holy Scriptures useful?
· List out some of the facts of Bible such as, composition, writers, languages and dates, themes etc.
· Why do we call the scriptures “the word of God” ?
Application
Read and meditate from Matthew 7:24-29 , 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” 28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
· According to Jesus who is the wise man/woman?
· How can we establish a habit of regularly reading of the Scriptures?
Prayer: “Dear lord, help us to establish a habit of reading your word daily which is very important to grow spiritually and to be your true disciple. Please help us not to forget you and your word.”
